I’m an experimental gardener and cook with a lot of interests and a lot of allergies.  My husband and I love trying out new ingredients and dishes, but have to move cautiously to avoid foods I’m allergic to.

I have oral allergy syndrome related to the birch pollen and cannot touch or eat the following nuts, fruits, and vegetables: almonds, apples, apricots, carrots, celery, cherries, hazelnuts, kiwi, nectarines, parsnips, peaches, pears, plums, potatoes, walnuts.

I cannot eat the nuts in any form, but the fruits and vegetables don’t cause a reaction once they are cooked.  Unfortunately, dehydration is not enough “cooking” so I cannot eat the fruits even when they are dried.
